Transparency Meets Efficiency
In a Bill of Quantities

At The Living Group, we always guide our operations with a firm Bill of Quantities
to facilitate the best possible experience for everyone involved.

What is a Bill of Quantities?

A Bill of Quantities (BoQ), issued in the tendering stage, maps out the projected materials and resources needed in a construction project. The amounts of each material and their cost is measured as precisely as possible to give both clients and contractors a full picture of the project costs and needs. A firm BoQ provides exact quantity measurements so that the price of the contract is the same as the price stipulated on the BoQ. An approximate BoQ provides looser quantity estimations and is not assumed to reflect the final costs.

Can a Bill of Quantities be amended?

Even in the case of a firm Bill of Quantities, as the project develops, it may become clear that some of the projected amounts were imprecise. Changes can be made to a Bill of Quantities, and in doing so, the prices can be adjusted in a transparent and upfront manner to reflect the exact change in quantities needed.

Using a Bill of Quantities as a resource

A Bill of Quantities is valuable even well after project completion. Since a BoQ lays out exactly which materials were used in the construction of the building, it can be used as a reference for future maintenance work, further renovations, and precise price valuations in the case of property sale.
